A message for engineers

Our research organization, Arc Institute, has developed a biological foundation model, Evo 2, trained on genomes from all domains of life, capable of generalist prediction and design tasks across DNA, RNA, and proteins. This model is a key component of our work in reimagining the intersection of AI and biology. We're tackling the challenge of developing novel, programmable systems for genetic engineering, such as our RNA-guided system, Bridge Recombinases, which enables precise insertion, inversion, and excision of any two DNA segments through a universal mechanism. Our approach combines cutting-edge AI techniques with a deep understanding of biological mechanisms, allowing us to tackle complex problems in fields like cancer, mitochondrial diseases, and diabetes.
