A message for engineers

We are a small team taking on tough problems to produce water that enables humanity's exploration of the solar system: machines that run in permanent darkness at cryogenic temperatures, instruments that find ice under regolith, and systems that turn what they find into a product that enables the cislunar economy. Every engineer here owns real hardware and real decisions. We're looking for systems, attitude control, communication, electrical, guidance and navigation, mechanical, software (autonomous AI), thermal, and other engineers with flight or extreme-environment experience, and people who are comfortable with ambiguity and want to build a company, not just a subsystem.

About

Lynx Exploration finds, extracts, and delivers lunar water ice, the resource that enables the future. Every kilogram launched from Earth's surface is expensive. Water found on the Moon can become drinking water, radiation shielding, breathable oxygen, and hydrogen-oxygen rocket propellant, produced where it is needed instead of hauled up from Earth. Lynx Exploration is building the capability to supply it. Our mission: make water the first commodity of the lunar economy. We start with the hardest, most valuable question in lunar resources: where is the ice, and how much can be recovered? Answering it with ground-truth data is the foundation for everything that follows. Roadmap: Phase 1, Prospect and Extract (2030). Phase 2, Produce (2031). Phase 3, Deliver (2032).

Designed to drive into permanently shadowed terrain near the lunar poles, characterize the ice, and return the data and samples that turn a resource estimate into a mining plan: where to dig, how deep, and how much water each site can yield. Cryogenic-rated materials and mechanisms, compliant wheels for loose, abrasive regolith, and instruments that detect water ice and other volatiles and measure how they are distributed.

Prospect and Extract (Phase 1, 2030)

Design, build, and qualify the Lynx rover. Fly it to a polar site and confirm ice location, concentration, and accessibility. Recover and process water from lunar regolith at pilot scale, proving the yield and energy cost per kilogram.

Produce and Deliver (2031-2032)

Scale extraction to sustained production of water, with an option to convert it to propellant, then supply water and propellant to landers, habitats, and spacecraft on the surface and in lunar orbit under commercial contracts.
